NGC281, Pacman nebula

Pacman, video game cult early 80′s and cartoon, also gave its name to a nebula in the constellation Cassiopeia. Beginners in astronomy ask me why. I will just tell them to watch what Pacman looked like and then to look at the photograph below.

Nebulae in Cepheus

In this post, the picture I show you here is the first of a serie that I took my vacation last september 2011 dedicated to astronomy and astrophotography (the Sun shone during almost 3 weeks).

This photograph shows you a field in the Milky Way in the Cepheus constellation which angular sizes in the sky are 18.17° x 12.11°,(for comparison, the angular diameter of the Moon is 0,5°). I used a lens whose focallength is 70 mm on my Canon EOS 350D.

Fog, stratus : Photowalk inside and above

The Lake Geneva area is known (at least from neighboring France) for its stratus covering it during the fall and winter days

When you’re working, below, morale mined by the gray, the dream is to be above trying to get warm by the sunlight.
